What To Do If You Want To Burn Fat and Not Muscle

By Garland Lebrecque

A lot is known about how the body burns fat but not muscle. We tend to feel that much of the problems people have with it are in the execution. This just means that the level of commitment people have might lessen after a bit of time. An additional point that's a cause for concern is why this has happened. Whilst everyone is very different and we can't guess all causes we can mention one possible cause. It is possible that many people simply choose the approach that is not optimal for them. Yet, after their efforts fail, they may not look for alternative approaches to try. Finding whatever suits you and works best is the most important thing to ensure your success.

Probably the best approach to burn fat not muscle is the eclectic one in which you use a variety of methods. You will find out that various methods work together much better than others, so bare this in mind. But the biggest factor in determining how successful you are is your diet, so some good changes may be required. There's so much information out there regarding this subject, so doing this with your diet won't be difficult at all. The next piece of the puzzle is your exercise and routines; they must be analyzed. That is assuming you do some exercise already, but if you don't that's fine.

The next suggestions are about how you can burn fat without harming your muscle mass too much. But first, it is important you understand that roughly the first twenty or so minutes of exercise produces glycogen burn instead of fat burn. So, keeping that in mind, you should start off by doing a bit of resistance work during those first 20 or so minutes. Firstly, warming up and stretching exercises should be done and then the resistance training.

If you know much about diets then you will know that you should try to avoid consuming too many complex carbohydrates. However if that's not the case then you should know that by consuming too many they will be turned into fat. We do need them, so eating them is perfectly fine but over eating them isn't. So to lose weight you must keep protein and fat intake at a good level, but lower the starchy foods. If you do this as well as doing regular workouts you'll see some wonderful results.

Simple carbohydrates, or simple sugars in this context, should be avoided when possible. Both complex carbs and this type of sugar will be turned into fat rather quickly. Three simple sugars, as an example, are fructose, sucrose and glucose. However we really must mention something regarding fructose in fruits. Whilst they do contain a simple sugar, they carry some wonderful benefits so they're recommended to be eaten. You'll get healthy vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants as well. When trying to just burn fat and not muscle mass there are many approaches that are flexible. That is actually a good thing because it means we have variety and choices for accomplishing this goal.
