The biggest issue I see with my team when we are talking about building our Body By Vi business is that they can't seem to bring the Body By Vi Challenge up in the context of a conversation without it being an awkward sales pitch. Here is the deal, everyone you talk to will be one of three types of people. Either they will be interested in the customer side, losing weight, they will be interested in making some extra money promoting the challenge, or they are not interested.
Here is the approach I use every time I am at dinner with the server, whom we will pretend is named Bob. Hi, Bob how are you today? Bob answers. So how long have you worked for this restaurant? Bob answers. What do you like best about your job here? Bob answers. Would you be interested in hearing about an opportunity to promote America's number one fitness challenge on the side and make some extra money?
The mistake most people make is they think that people wouldn't be interested in promoting. This is a business and you want to bring people in. It's much easier to ask them to promote the challenge than it is to insuate they need to lose weight isn't it? That said, if you talk about your success in weight loss, you will easily sign up customers.
At the point that you get a yes I am interested in hearing more then don't let that lead go. Move them into the preparty phase and stick to them. Lastly, once you have prepartied get them to a party.
